Millers split day one doubleheader with Jarvis Christian College


Game 1: JMU Millers Baseball Defeats Jarvis Christian University in a Blow-Out Victory


JMU Millers Baseball easily dispatched Jarvis Christian University 8-1 on Monday JMU Millers Baseball pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Thomas induced Connor Varnum to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored and Kade Massey doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs. JMU Millers Baseball notched four runs in the fifth inning. JMU Millers Baseball's offense in the inning came from doubles by Kole Sonnier and Trevor Durr. Moose Ortego earned the victory on the hill for JMU Millers Baseball. The righthander allowed one hit and one run over six innings, striking out two. Kaden Sanders threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Thomas took the loss for Jarvis Christian University. The bulldog allowed eight hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. JMU Millers Baseball scattered 11 hits in the game. Durr and Connor Pleasant each had multiple hits for JMU Millers Baseball. Pleasant and Durr each managed two hits to lead JMU Millers Baseball. Otero went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Jarvis Christian University in hits.


Game 2: Jarvis Christian University Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory


JMU Millers Baseball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 4-0 loss to Jarvis Christian University on Tuesday. Jarvis Christian University took the lead on a double in the first inning. Jarvis Christian University got things started in the first inning. Bobyn doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. One bright spot for JMU Millers Baseball was a single by Ethan Bienvenu in the second inning. #21 got the win for Jarvis Christian University. The ace went seven innings, allowing zero runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one. Cabet Blanchard took the loss for JMU Millers Baseball. Blanchard allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two. Nick Webre, Bienvenu, Landon LeBlanc, Trevor Durr, Quincy Kelly, and Kole Sonnier each managed one hit to lead JMU Millers Baseball. Jarvis Christian University racked up seven hits on the day. Bobyn, Palmero, and C.Rodriguez all had multiple hits for Jarvis Christian University. Jarvis Christian University didn't commit a single error in the field. Holder had the most chances in the field with nine.
