Game One: JMU Millers Baseball Nabs Win Over Arlington Baptist Despite Early 3-Run Inning


Arlington Baptist scored three runs in the fifth inning, but JMU Millers Baseball still won 9-5 on Wednesday. Arlington Baptist's big inning was driven by an error on a ball put in play by Tidwell and a double by Wilterson. JMU Millers Baseball fired up the offense in the first inning, when Trevor Durr tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Cabet Blanchard was the winning pitcher for JMU Millers Baseball. The southpaw lasted five innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out three and walking one. Kris Prejeant threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Kamron Meadows took the loss for Arlington Baptist. The bulldog allowed seven hits and six runs over one inning, walking zero. JMU Millers Baseball tallied 14 hits on the day. Tyler Knippers, Durr, Connor Varnum, Connor Pleasant, and Trystin Gilbert each racked up multiple hits for JMU Millers Baseball. Knippers led JMU Millers Baseball with three hits in four at bats. Wilterson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Arlington Baptist in hits.



Game Two: Sonnier Shines at the Plate in JMU Millers Baseball Victory Over Arlington Baptist


Four hits from Kole Sonnier helped lead the way for JMU Millers Baseball over Arlington Baptist 12-7 on Wednesday. Sonnier singled in the first, doubled in the third, homered in the fourth, and homered in the sixth. Arlington Baptist scored five runs in the seventh inning, but JMU Millers Baseball still managed to pull out the victory. Chris Cobos, Jose Gutierrez, and Jordan Aubrey powered the big inning with RBIs. JMU Millers Baseball tallied four runs in the seventh inning. Connor Pleasant and Kade Massey all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Payton Albert was credited with the victory for JMU Millers Baseball. Albert lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out six. Kaden Sanders threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Wilterson started the game for Arlington Baptist. The righty surrendered four runs on five hits over two innings, walking one. Riley Fagan, Isaiah Amador, Tucker Martinez, and Eddie Moreno each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, one inning, one inning, and one inning respectively. JMU Millers Baseball hit two home run on the day. Sonnier put one out in the fourth and sixth innings. JMU Millers Baseball racked up ten hits in the game.
